Once you have entered your items into your Time & Material Project, you can now create invoices for this project.
Create an Invoice
In a Time & Material Project, click the + Create Invoice button near the top right of the screen.
A New Time & Material Invoice screen will open. You will see that any items that have not been previously invoiced will automatically appear on the invoice. You can remove any items you do not want to include on this invoice. You may also edit your item details on the invoice and the change will be reflected in your project’s item list.
Once you are satisfied with your invoice items, you may:
- Add a markup amount. You can enter a percentage or a specific amount
- Add a discount amount. You can enter a percentage or a specific amount
- Verify Tax amount. This amount is pre-populated based on your project details
- Click Save in the bottom right corner
If your Werx account is connected to Stripe payments for accepting online payment processing, you can select the Include Payment Link check box. A payment button will display on the client’s invoice screen, allowing them to pay the invoice with a credit card.
Send Invoice
Option 1: Send Email
- To send an invoice to the customer, select Save & Send in the bottom right corner
- Select from the list of customer contacts associated with this project, to whom you want to send this invoice. You can also add additional email addresses if desired.
- Include a message that will show in the customer’s invoice email.
- Click Send
From the Save and Send pop-up, you may also click the Preview button to view the customer-side invoice portal.
Option 2: Get Link
- To send an invoice to the customer, select Save & Link in the bottom right corner
- A pop-up will appear with a URL directly to the customer-side invoice portal. Click Copy Link to copy the URL to your clipboard
- You can now past the link in any communication to your clients.
Sync Invoice to QuickBooks
For accounts connected to QuickBooks Online
Once you have completed your invoice and are ready to sync to QuickBooks, click the QB Sync button on the top right of the invoice screen.
